CPA- Benchmarking a CPA Campaign
CPA (Cost per Action) is an excellent pricing model for the internet marketing. In this advertising model, the advertiser is required to pay only if a user takes certain actions on the advertisement page. The advertiser is not required to pay if a user is simply viewing the page. However if he clicks on a button see further information, to fills out a questionnaire or a survey form or if he eventually buys the product, the advertiser is required to pay. CPA Ninja will show you how to get paid, and paid well.
This model has proved to be very beneficial for the advertisers but the publishers are usually reluctant to run a CPA campaign on their websites. The reasons for their hesitancy are that sometimes the content of the advertisement is not attractive enough to make the user click on a desired button. But the website space of the publisher is constantly being used! Now the websites only agree to publish a ‘benchmarked’ or ‘tested’ CPA campaign.
Simple steps to benchmark a CPA campaign are
• Set an initial draft of your CPA campaign and test it by sending it to different email lists. You will only have to buy a cheap email program or email marketing software for it.
• Publish a down sized version of your ad on several smaller websites. Buy smaller but prominent spaces of the websites.
• Do not forget to test your conversion and landing page. Forgetting to test the landing page is no less than a benchmarking sin.
• The conditions under which you are judging a response are very crucial. If the response is bad, do a ‘test run’ again under altered conditions. If you feel you are getting a good response note the conditions exactly. For example a productmay get good response in a particular area or in a particular seasonal condition.
Take your campaign to the publisher with the proofs of the ‘test runs’ and the response that you have got. This way the publisher will be happy to take your campaign, as both of you will reap benefits from the CPA pricing model.
